My husband is coming home on Tuesday. I am thrilled, delighted and scared all at the same time. He has advanced prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, spinal cord and lymph nodes. He can’t walk or stand and has no control of bodily functions. He has a poorly tummy and says he doesn’t have any appetite for food. Hospital staff are not concerned and planning to send him home. I am worried about him being too far away from medical care once home. Iam so confused and worried about him that I am finding it difficult to cope but trying hard to keep calm for him.
Hey Teatowel
your emotions will be running high and all over the place. Just take a day at a time and enjoy having him home . I’m sure the medics will be in touch and support you both once he is home .
On top of the care package are you having support from McMillan / Marie Curie ?
Huge hugs to you both
liz & OH xx
Hi Teatowel I can appreciate all of the emotions you are going through. Just to be back home will be amazing for you both. As Liz & John have said, it is important for you to take care of yourself. Take each day as it comes. I hope you get the support you need. Love and best wishes, David
Best wishes, David
