Hi, my husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer in November, he is having hormone therapy and oncologist is looking at starting radiotherapy in March, I just want to know if they have stopped radiotherapy treatment due to covid? Thanks
Hi Sneezy,
So sorry to hear about your husband. Different hospitals are doing different things - I had daily radiotherapy through July and August, with Covid social distancing in place. You need to follow up with your oncologist or specialist nurse.
Best wishes,
Angus
Hi Sneezy, looks like I am in a similar situation to your husband. Also diagnosed in November, never had any symptoms, I just asked for a PSA test which came back at 12. Also started hormone therapy in December and having 20 radiotherapy sessions in March. My hospital in Dorset still running radiotherapy treatments.
Hi Sneezy,
A delay of a few months before radiotherapy is routine; it gives the hormone treatment time to shrink the tumour a little to allow a more focused beam.
