Late effects of radiotherapy

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer 2 years ago ( Gleason 8 ) & have just completed my 2 years of hormone therapy. My radiotherapy ( March ‘24 ) took the form of 5 sessions ( as part of the PACE trial ).

All seemed ok until a few weeks ago when I started to notice blood in my urine ( in addition to blood in poo ). I was hence referred for a cystoscopy & colonoscopy - these procedures seem to have aggravated things & I am suffering from increased frequency to urinate & a constant urge.

I have now been prescribed Solifenacin 5mg ( ( once daily ) to ease frequency & urge - been told to double the dosage after 2 weeks if no improvement & a switch to other medication if that doesn’t help. Can anyone share any similar experiences - the constant urge & occasional incontinence is driving me crazy!

Also I have telangiectasia around the base of my bladder. I believe that hyperbaric oxygen can be very beneficial but I am struggling to get any information on this. My consultant couldn’t help when I saw her a couple of days ago & has promised to get back to me. The NHS are highly unlikely to fund & hence I’m looking at paying for this. There is a facility in Hull ( 80 miles away ) which the NHS occasionally refer patients to - this is probably the ‘gold star’ facility since the depth to which their oxygen chambers go to covers all needs. There is a local facility in Nottingham - but the chambers have a maximum ‘depth’ of 2 atmospheres - my question is ‘is this deep enough’ to help with the telangiectasia? Any advice would be very gratefully received.

thank you x
