Still alive

Hello all. Hope everyone with similar problems are all doing well. Never updated for a while now but still on the journey. Feeling a bit better after 33 Sessions of radiotherapy to pelvic area after cancer came back.
Also hormone injections every 3 months for two years is nearly complete. Still have PSA blood tests every 3 months apparently it is less than 0.2

I am am so glad I obtained a second opinion from a private medical oncologist. I don’t think I would have been here if I did not do that. Previous oncologist said CT scan was clear after prostectomy. This was untrue as private CT scan clearly showed cancer was still there and worsening.

I am grateful for all the treatment I have had which has given me some additional years with my family.

Apparently I am not out of the woods yet as PSA  could possibly rise again after hormone treatment stops as cancer cells can reawake. So still high risk after an initial PSA level of 50

Life is ok but not the same in abdominal area after all what has been done but still lucky to be alive.

Hope this update is helpfull to all in a similar situation.

Cheers

Arnie

  • Hi  , that all sounds good.  I had over 5 years before PSA started to rise, so let’s hope it stays low for many many years.  David

  • Hello Arnie

Thank you so much for taking the time to come back and tell us how it is.

Whatever the issue - if you have that attitude it's half the battle and life goes on - I wish you well. I hope your "issues" get sorted.

We are here for you - if you need a rant, a chat or just to pass the time of day - it's OUR club and you are a paid up member. (My initial PSA was 182 and life is good!!),

    Best wishes - Brian.
