Hi everyone, would anyone know if there is a connection between prostate cancer and type two diabetes, I am 6 months post radiotherapy and I have type two diabetes my blood sugar levels have risen to 68 from 55 also blood pressure on the high side any help would be appreciated thanks Paul
Hi Paul. I thought you might like to read this.
Liaise with your doctor to keep things under control. As you are on a curative pathway then hopefully things will get better once you come off the hormone therapy.
I know that our community champion Brian Millibob has had to do a juggling act as he is also type 2 diabetic. I have tagged him in but he is away on holiday and having a well earned break so may not respond for a while.
Good morning Paul (Paul1963) and Alwayshope
Thanks for the “tag” 23c and sunny this morning in Turkey.
Yes I have been type 2 for over 14 years controlled by metformin. Once I started HT by HBa1c shot up to the high 60’s.. I had to take a copy of my PIL (patient information leaflet) to my GP as he was not convinced it was caused by HT.
This has now been accepted and my marker increased to 48 although even eating the odd kebab and having a few beers I am able to keep it in the high 30’s.
You may need to teach your GP as I did and ours is a big group practice.
Best wishes - Brian.
