hi all hope everyone is okay and doing well on there journeys quick question partner had biopsy last week this was sent via nhs app to gp can someone tell me what it might mean the waiting for the results is awful and just wish they tell us what’s happening so if anything get treatment started thanks

Hi Clare
Yes, the waiting terrible I know.
They obviously want to do a bone scan which often happens.
You're waiting for biopsy results, possibly they have seen a highish Gleeson and want to do a bone scan just be sure ok.
Unless they told you before the biopsy that they had a bone scan planned.
But having a look at your stats T2, unlikely to have spread so fingers crossed bone scan will be ok
That's just my interpretation, I could be wrong, see what others say
All the best
Steve
Hello Clare (Clarebryan62)
It's just the standard memo, hospital to GP. It's confirming his PSA. The DRE (digital rectal examination) felt there was cancer and the MRI returned a PI-RADS score of 5 (cancer highly likely Possibly T2c). He's had the bone scan so all you are waiting for is the biopsy results.
Once the biopsy results are in the hospital will hold a MDT (multi-disciplinary meeting) and you will get an appointment to tell you of the proposed treatment plan - well that's how it should work.
If I've not sent it to you before, here's our guide to Staging, Grading and Risk Groups Prostate Cancer.
Easy for me to say - sit back, relax, keep fit and wait for the results. We are with you here, anything else just ask.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hi Clarebryan62 , I am not medically trained but this is my assessment.
PSA 45 which is quite high, I was PSA 74 and we have had guys on here over 1,000!
DRE T3 Left - When the Dr did your OH’s examination using his finger he could feel an abnormality and assessed that it was cancer and it had possibly escaped the prostate.
PIRAD 5 - highly likely to be Prostate Cancer (PCa)
T2c - after biopsy now scaled down to contained in prostate. That’s good.
TPLA bx 6+6 - The bx just means biopsy, so I think 6 cores were taken for examination from each side of the prostate. TPLA is confusing me. I am guessing that he had the biopsy at a recognised cancer specialist hospital? I think TPLA is a new technique but I could be wrong.
Clinic 2 weeks - you should get results in a couple of weeks at a clinic appointment.
CT/bone scan - as a double check your OH is being sent for scans to check no further spread. This is routine.
So far, nothing to indicate this isn’t very treatable with an intent to cure. Hope that helps but we all know what a difficult time this is waiting for results. The next stage will be getting a Gleason score from the biopsy. Let us know how you get on. If I have got anything wrong, I am sure others will be along. Good luck, David
Best wishes, David

Hi David2017 thank you for reply my partners psa is actually higher that psa was the original one he had at the doctors he had another one at it was 52 not had results from biopsy yet think the tc2 is from what they found with mri bone scan was clear x
Ok Clare, didn't realise bone scan done, that's good that clear obviously.
So whatever the Gleeson is still potentially curable, obviously the lower the better but even if 9 still curable ,
Have they given treatment options, have u a preference?
Steve
Yes I understand but think you can relax a bit , or quite a bit as not spread anywhere else
Hope all goes well in the next couple of weeks
Steve
Hello Steve (Grundo) & David (David2017)
Thank you for posting some great replies. Just a reminder, if you read a Community member's profile before replying, if it's up to date you will see just where they are on their journey - in Bryan's case - he's had his bone scan.
Best wishes - Brian.
