Hi. Just had a letter to say I may have C.R.P.C .Straight to Google.wrong I know,.Different reports say life expectancy is 2-3 years. That has took the wind out of my sails. To be fair it has not been confirmed. Not to me anyway.I suppose at 82,83 next year.if it is three years 86 is an average age.
Derek
Castrate resistant prostate cancer only means that it doesn’t respond well to testosterone deprivation. Resistant doesn’t mean “doesn’t work”. Some of the newer drugs can still extend life. Men in their 80s are just as likely to die if something else. Concentrate on living quality life and let the medics do the thinking. Stay off google! AW
Alpine Wanderer. You have made me feel %100 better after reading your reply. From now on Google is baned.Thank You A.W.
Derek
Hello Derek (Summer and Winter)
I am with Alpine Wanderer here - stay off Dr Google, use trusted sourced for your information, Macmillan, Prostate Cancer UK or Cancer research UK. I also disagree with anyone who give a figure for "life expectancy" - we are all different. We have "terminal" Community members on here diagnosed over 10 years ago!!
Remember 98% of men with a Prostate Cancer diagnosis die WITH it not OF it!!
Best wishes - Brian.

Also, your letter said that you “may” have CRPC. That sounds that it is by no means certain that it is anyway ! AW
