Just a quick question .my OH had his Prostap injection last Monday . Had his RT Tuesday . At the site of the injection he has a lump about 1.5 inches x 3/4 inch ( giving my age away ) not had any problems before . Has the RT affected his Prostap ?
Hello johnam
We've had this question before. A lump at a Prostap injection site is quite common. It's designed for slow release so in simple terms the injection forms a jelly that slowly disperses in time. It should be OK and go down, but if it's red, painful or warm to the touch refer it back to your GP.
I would also let the Radiotherapy team know - just in case. (I have been wrong before too!!).
Best wishes - Brian.

Hello Liz & OH (johnam)
My OH says thanks for all your support as you are a god send for us
It's my pleasure - I am only putting back into the Community what I have had out. I was chatting to Stevecam the other day, he was one of the ones who helped me when I joined the Community. I went looking back and found my first post when I joined the Community!!
I do what I do because I don't want anyone to be where I was at the start of 2022, it's an awful time being given a cancer diagnosis. At that time I thought Prostate Cancer was something other men got......how wrong I was!!
Kind Regards - Brian.

Aw!!! I'm blushing!!!
Brian don't forget you helped me immensely last year when I was going through torture with work!
Prostate Cancer is something other men get...until !!! It doesn't half change your outlook on life!
One day there could be a cure! It will be getting closer, mark my words!

Hi johnam, I would just like to echo, what Brian has said, I've just had my 11th prostap jab, 1 hour ago, and get a lump every time, or depot to give it it's medical name, and it's where the medicine is held in a prolonged release suspension, to disperse over the time between injections, I did ask the radiographers during RT If my Prostap jab would be an issue, and was told only if you have it while laying down having your RT.
Eddie xx
I recently had my third prostap injection for the next 12 weeks. The first 2 injections just left a small lump which gradually disappeared by the end of 12 weeks but the latest one left a larger lump which was red and tender 2 days after injection. I was about to go back to the GP about this but it then cleared within a few days and is no no bother.
