Hi !
As you can see in my profile I’m fairly new on this wonderful community and I’m also a prostate cancer patient living in Sweden.
My treatment journey is a little bit different then most locally advanced prostate cancer patients and therefore I’m curious from others experience from time of diagnosis, curative treatments, treatments to suppress the cancer (ADT, 2nd gen treatments), studies that you have participated in, combination of studies and etc.
Of course it’s very interesting to see how everything is working out, pros and cons and perhaps how people handle long periods (maybe 2-3 years) of routine checkups to see if you are in total remission, potentially even Cure and also the time after long periods of ADT or/and combination therapies to still have long periods to know if you’re in the clear or not.
Locally advanced prostate cancer and also advanced prostate cancer in my own personal opinion is a extremly vague diagnoses as it spans from cure, long remission to high rates of recurrence and for me this is really a rollercoaster.
Hope to have some good inspirational dialogues and of course, EVERBODY is very welcome in this discussion because everybody have a story to tell and to learn
Best wishes - Ulf

Interesting article.
Thanks for this Neil. An interesting article and it offers more hope for men like you with a neuroendocrine diagnosis. Keep on with the chemo, you are on the homeward slope with your 4th session next week. All the best.
Hi Ulifhub
Good afternoon, I had my appointment at the hospital earlier today.
Unfortunately we were called in by my consultant's register who we have had major concerns with previously.
The first time that we meet her she said to me how is your "chemo going"
We had to tell her that I have never had chemo in my life time.
She then sent my repeat prescription to pharmacy in the hospital only half complete.
Today the first thing that she said was how is your radiotherapy sessions going??
We again had to correct her by saying that I have only had one cycle of radiation.
Anyway we managed to get my consultant to come in and provide me with a plan going forward.
So I now need to go again in 6wks and go through all of the scans and make a "treatment plan"

Hi Prostate Worrier
She sounds like a bundle of fun to have to deal with and not something I would take kindly too. I know we all make mistakes..... apparently even I did once
However there is simply no excuse for something like that to happen during any consultation never mind something so important as a medical matter. I hope the consultant has a serious word with her as it's totally unacceptable
Take a look at the website “ iwantgreatcare”
Hi Splinter.
Thanks yes you could say a "bundle of fun" mind you I would say "something else"
Yes she doesn't have a clue which is very concerning considering we are all dealing with the "Big Beast"
No I think I am going to document it in my notes that I only see the consultant at all times in the future.
I have worked in the NHS for 10yrs in medical records so I know the "ins and outs"

Hi Prostate worrier !
Sounds like an adventure you really didn’t need to have but if I understand you correct you did get a plan forward and that sounds good to me my friend
Did you get any results from the blood test you did last week or are they still getting analyzed?
Well, I hope for the best and as always, fingers and toes crossed my friend
Best wishes - Ulf
Hi Ulifhub.
Thanks, yes not the adventure that anyone would want at that time in the morning.
The blood's came back at 3.4 which was a 4th rise in a row.
Yes at least my consultant came in and saved the day!!!!
