At last a plan of treatment

Unfortunately due to the junior Dr's strike my original appointment with the surgeon was cancelled for 20/12/2023. I had been told a week earlier 13/12/2023 by a prostate specialist cancer nurse I needed possibly to consider the the need for radiotherapy as my PSA was rising she had taken the liberty to make me the consultant appointment. Tele consultation today 07/02/2023 with my surgeon who confirmed my rising PSA level was of concern. He requested I have a PSA test at the main centre as testing was more sensative than my local hospital. Went on to explain if this test remained high he will refer me to the oncologist for ongoing treatment ( radiotherapy). I have mentally found the delay in getting a forward plan plays tricks with my thought patterns. Has the 'Dark Lord' taken advantage to make progress with my disease. However now much happier I have a plan it not knowing that gets me.

Hello Cuthbert. As you say the cancellation off appointments doesn’t help then the waiting game comes into play but glad you have a plan going forward now,keep chin up

Hello Cuthbert It's the waiting game - it's the one piece of the cancer journey we all hate. At least your team are now onto it and taking action.

Hi Brian,

PSA level has further increased. Now have been referred to the Oncologist. Hope the appointment is not to far away.

Hello Cuthbert Don't forget you can always leave a message with the oncologists and let them know you are able to take any short notice cancellations - this may bring forward your appointment.
