ONCOLOGY MEETING FINALLY

After waiting 6 weeks from my referal by Urology , I met with my excellent Oncologist Consultant today.  I was dreading this meeting but my Oncologist made me feel at ease and put forward a positive plan for my treatment. I will start Triple treatment at the beginning of March with Chemo (Doectaxel and Prednisolone Steriods) and Daroulutamide coupled with my existing continuation of 3 monthly hormone injections. Only one more MRI for the timebeing to establish the benchmarks on my Spinal mets.  We discussed my Liver MRI which again was inconclusive. Treatment plan unaffected either way. So after a long anxious wait I now have a timetable and a treatment plan. I have every confidence in the Consulting Team to help me in the best way they can.

  • Hi   I just posted on the other thread - no anxiety now.

That's great - you have a plan and now you can move forward. Have a break and get ready for the Chemotherapy - there's plenty of great advice here on Chemo.

I am so pleased for you - it's been a bit of a journey so far - but it's looking much better now.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Hi Skippy.                                                                                        Great that you have a plan ahead and takes some anxiety away, hope it goes well Thumbsup

  • So pleased you now have a plan so you can move forward and good to hear you feel confident with the team it certainly does help with positivity

  • its good to hear you now have a plan. Good luck with it! Let us know how you get on!

  • Skippy1959, It is quite remarkable how uncertainty causes worry and just the fact you have your treatment planned is a massive step forward.  I am sure that will give encouragement to others just starting with PCa.

We all react differently to chemo, my body rejected it after 4 rounds but lots of guys sail through with almost no noticeable side effects.  Like you, I have  confidence in my team and so far they have done well.  I think Daroulutamide is my next drug from the toolbox (in April) so will be interested in your reaction to that drug.  Good luck on your journey.  Best wishes. David

  • Hi Skippy,

That sounds like a great appointment/treatment plan.
