On HT,never been constipated till now.Not been bad this week though, went for CT scan. Bowels not empty after enema, took the torpedo, helped enough ,or so i thought.

Come back next week , take stronger laxative for 5 days previous. Anybody else have this problem? The 3 Gents before me,also had to have a 2nd try, they were successful!

  • Hello   I haven't had the issue with a CT scan but had it with a Colonoscopy. I followed all the rules to empty my bowels but alas not good enough (as the man said - there's 67 years worth of crap up there). so back to square one - more laxatives and come back next week - so you aren't alone.

Oh - are you still haeing issues with the Hot flushes - have you tried Sage tablets - "Menoforce" from Holland and Barrett do the job for me - not had one in 12 months.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Thanks for the reply,  no have not tried Menoforce yet.Hot flashes at the moment only last a minute or two and are mainly at night.Only very occasional in the daytime. So bearable at the moment, but, will keep in mind.RT should start on 24th of this month,as long as I get past next weeks scan !

  • i've never had to make sure sure my bowels were empty before a scan ?

the only thing i've had to do is drink loads of water before the scan

    never heard of it before

    hope it works next time

  • Yes had too drink plenty of water,in fact I had drank too much, and had to relieve some. But for CT scans on prostate your bowels have to be clear. As I said originally the 3 guys before me also had a problem, but, eventually got through it. Perhaps all hospitals dont have the same rules?
