Hi all, I'm six months in from 5 x radiation treatment on the PACE- NODES treatment schedule and everything was going well until 7 weeks ago when I first noticed blood in my urine. I reported this to my team at the Marsden (Sutton branch) last week and was referred to my local NHS trust at Epson for investigation. I haven't heard anything back, as yet, but over the past two days I've passed two blood clots and this morning, a lot of blood - but nothing since. What should I do?

  • Hi

Thanks for your message. I think in this case you need to go right back to the Marsden - by telephone - if you can't do this you need to call your G P for an urgent appointment or your local NHS drop in centre.

I hope this helps - keep us posted please.

    I wish you well.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Thanks Millibob. Everything seems to have settled down since this a.m. so I'll leave it until tomorrow and take it from there...

  • Update...

Further small bleeds, but have now had a further blood test, scheduled for a CT scan early this evening followed by a Cystoscopy on Thursday. I'm now suffering from near continuous abdominal pain from the bladder/prostate area which is affecting my sleep (got up at 04:30 this morning as I couldn't get comfortable).

    At least something is happening...

  • Hello   Thanks for the update. I am so sorry it's keeping you up but at least they are looking into the cause.

Let's hope it's nothing too serious and whatever it is - it's an easy fix - and you get sorted. Keep us posted.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Update...

Still having occasional small bleeds, but today had cystoscopy which revealed no obvious new cancers (Relaxed). The problem seems to be the site of the TURP carried out last November which looked a bit 'raw'. Advised to take it easy and drink lots of water to keep flushing the affected area. Now got to wait to see if it calms down...

  • Hello

Thanks for the update. If you read my journey I had a TURP last November - gulp !! - but everything looks to be OK.

I hope the water cure sorts it out - it will keep you on the toilet!!  Grimacing.

    Lets hope it calms down.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Cheers Brian. This morning it feels as if I've had a good kicking, so hoping for a calm, relaxing day... if she'll let me be!
