Hello Skye, I’m sorry to hear your fears have been confirmed. I hope you can soon get the treatment plan sorted and that things go smoothly for you both.
hugs and love to you x
Still have to break the news to family we have just kept it to ourselves till we had all information confirmed so have that to do that but this is when it has kicked off a lot of emotions as I don’t even know where to start speaking about it with others as now everything has been confirmed emotions are flooding and trying to hold back as I now need to be my husbands rock and family.
Hi Skye45 - at least you now know where you stand on your journey. I assume the Hormone Therapy will start right away to slow down the growth. The MDT team will have more information on how they plan to go forward. I know it's not easy but you need to prepare a list of questions foe the MDT team about future treatment.
As for telling family - we waited until we had the MDT meeting and then told all 4 of our adult children together - but told them everything. They were aware I was ill - I had been in hospital for 10 days - but once they knew - they were amazing and did all they could to help.
Take care, I know you are there for him, we are all here for both of you.
Brian.

Yes they said it will be started prob next week after the meeting and then 3 months after radiotherapy.
am a bit confused why different scores on right side which is a slow growing and nothing showed up in the mri about right side was all about the left and vessels.
was a telephone consultation so didn’t really get time to ask about the corrs etc. and different Gleason 4+3 amd 3+4 but they speaking maybe chemo or the new super hormones and what does the volume mean
will ask next week when they call about treatment.
yes am sure it will be fine. thank you
Skye I am so sorry to hear that your husbands diagnosis has been confirmed. My husband had a similar experience the MRI showed a lesion on one side only however the biopsy confirmed cancer on both sides. I think that is why they target the biopsy using MRI and take additional cores from other areas to ensure nothing is missed. I hope his treatment goes well sending hugs to you both
Robina
Thank you. What is your husbands treatment.
thus is what worrying me cancer didn’t show up on lymph nodes or bones either which is good but what if scans have missed something.
surgery not an option.
hope yous are doing ok.
I thought I had this but I think was in denial but it’s really happening.
xx
He was not given the option of surgery his treatment is Hormone Therapy injections every 3 months along with radiotherapy within 6months. The extent of HT will be decided after radiotherapy.
He has had his first Prostap injection with the second one booked for end May His appointment with the oncologist is in July to start Radiotherapy. His diagnosis is T3a N0M0
He has not had many symptoms apart from increase in appetite.
