Hi all, I am really concerned about my husband who has Stage 4, Gleason 9 PC. He had his last chemotherapy round at the beginning of December and will start radiotherapy beginning of February but I am really concerned about his chest. He has had 4 courses of antibiotics and a course of steroids, prednisolone, for this but he is still coughing and wheezing. Has anyone experienced this after chemotherapy or should I be worried and request a chest X-ray to rule out anything sinister?
thank you all
Hi Jnc welcome to the forum and sorry that you have not had a reply as yet. I imagine that as he has had chemo his immune system will be somewhat compromised and he will be very susceptible to infections. I wonder if his GP should be approached for a referral for an Xray of his chest or could the chemo unit arrange this for him.
Personally I think it is worth having this conversation with hubby's GP and asking them to get an X-Ray completed and at least put your minds at rest.
Best wishes with it all and do let us know how you get on. x
Hi, thank you so much for your reply.
we are waiting to see how he goes over the weekend in case it’s just this horrible cough and cold lingering but we will get in touch with the GP if no improvement x
