My husband had an MRI and a biopsy..we’ve had the results of the biopsy this afternoon and they have said it was clear but the MRI apparently showed a pelvic node and they are sending him for a CT scan ….is it possible the MRI and biopsy have missed any cancer and it has spread …I’m feeling very very uneasy
Hi Pols, it sounds like they are covering all bases which is good.
My husband had exactly the same, but his biopsy showed 7 out of 20 and he is now classed at a Gleason 8 (T4). They also found it had spread to his lymph nodes and bones via a PET scan. . They thought it had also spread to his brain but we have since found out fortunately it hasn’t. He has ihis 4th session of chemo in a weeks time and a CT scan with contrast is booked for the 13 February to see if the abdomen and pelvic cancer has reduced. I am forever asking questions even though my husband doesn’t want to know (apparently this is quite common with men, but the only way I can deal with this, is to know everything good or bad)
i know exactly how you are feeling, my stomach is always in knots and you want to do the best for him. I am constantly on the phone to Macmillan and UK Prostate Specialists Nurses have been absolutely amazing.
Try to breathe out negativity and breathe in positivity. Take care, try to stay strong (I know that’s a big ask)
I am here for you. Please keep in touch and let me know how everything goes. Thinking of you.
Thank you….but Oh my…I so understand there is always someone going through so much worse ..I really need to get a grip…I keep hoping there is a very simple answer and this pelvic node is nothing..I’m so sorry that you’re going through such a horrible time …and I have everything crossed for 13th Feb for you both.. Thank you Joe and journeyone for giving me the positives that the team are taking every precaution and have his welfare at heart …Good luck..I’m also here
