Hi all, my husbands last chemo round will be on 2nd December and then the plan is for 20 sessions of radiotherapy. Does anyone know the timescale from last chemo session to scans, to see if chemo has had any impact, and how long after those scans would he receive radiotherapy?
kind regards
hi, thank you for the reply. we can vaguely remember scans 4-6, but could have misheard, but then then they didn’t mention how long after for radiotherapy. I’m guessing we will find out at the next appointment, it’s just difficult to make plans, my husband is a person who likes to have something planned to look forward to, even more so since his diagnosis as he intends to live life to the full as best he can
very best wishes to you
Hi
It all depends on how you feel after chemotherapy, it can knock you for six, plus it needs to drain from your system. six weeks is usually the norm, there’s no need to worry, twenty sessions is what everyone has. Scans can be taken at any time, because mine was a very aggressive PC, as my profile will tell you, I had lots done, if I recall none while I had radiotherapy though.
Great, he was hoping to get a break to get a week or 2 away after chemo and before scans and radiotherapy. like you he had a very aggressive PC so treatment will be continuous. we won’t want anything put before treatment but we do want to try live life as well and travel is what has always been his passion
