Hello,
My Dad is had a biopsy yesterday (following an MRI a few weeks back). The generic post-biopsy paperwork said he would be called back into the clinic in a week to see the consultant about the results and to bring a family member along. Today, he received an email saying a member of the urology team will call him on Tuesday week. Finding it very hard not to read into every little thing as I'm very worried. Can I ask, did anyone receive a diagnosis over the phone? Is it a good sign that they don't want him in person? And that there doesn't seem to be much urgency for the phone call? Or is it simply NHS backlog at the minute?
I know it will be different for everyone but it would be great to get some personal experiences on this! Edited to add, we are in. London, UK.
Thank you x
Hi W26. Sorry you and your dad have to deal with this. I would not read anything into how or when you are contacted. It is natural to worry over these details. You are right, every situation is different.
It is great that you are there for your dad. Stay positive and I hope you get good news.
Hi W
Telephone consultations do seem to be more the norm these days , after Covid I suppose, If there is a back log it must help speed things up so try not to worry.
If u give some stats we may be able to help, I know you're waiting on biopsy results.
Do u have PSA history and what does the MRI show?
Steve
