I have been diagnosed and have had lots of excellent care with Stepping Hill hospital (Stockport) . However although not too far away my home local is Derby Royal Hospital. The GP advised I change to Derby . At the moment i have not got confidence in Derby.
Reason 1 I got letter from them for two months time should have an appointment date if not ring.
Reason 2 no news so rang told could be October.
Reason 3 got a letter appointment September 26th new patient
Reason 4 urology Stepping Hill appointment for clinic at Buxton because as consultant Mr Brough says its nearer for me .Bloods and scheduling for another MRI
Reason 5 Mr Brough consultant has had no communication from Derby
I would like some reviews of both Hospitals from your first hand experience .
Who do i speak to about my preferred hospital ?
Hi MikeE and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I don't have any experience with either of these hospitals but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. I've searched this group for posts which mention either hospital but drawn a blank for Stepping Hill. However, I have found these posts which mention Derby Royal.
This page on the NHS website tells you about your choices in the NHS so might be helpful. You could also post your question about how you go about choosing the hospital that you'd prefer to be treated at in the ask a nurse section of the online community. If you'd like to do that clicking the link I've created will take you straight there.
Wishing you all the best with your treatment.
