Been in remission since sept last year. 0.1 levels. 4 weeks ago went to. 0.3 . Gp receptionist told me my results are normal. Oncology said they are not. This week 0.4. Again receptionist said normal range. Obviously not for someone that hasn’t a prostate. So scan booked for Tuesday next week.
has anyone had surgery and been in remission and then the psa goes up. I’m really worried . And scars
Arryticker,
I've been in Remission since February this year, PSA levels were 0.09, this week I saw my Oncologist for my 6 monthly appointment, PSA up to 0.03
I had the Hormones and Radiotherapy option and as long as my PSA levels can stay between 0 and 2, I don't require any further treatment. The Oncologist said my PSA levels may rise in 6-8 months when my Testosterone machine starts up again, still getting raging Hot Flushes at the moment.
I'm happy with the levels going up slightly. I can see how you feel concerned with your PSA levels.
The thing that gets me is how can your doctor say they are normal, when Oncology says not. I would believe Oncology any day before a normal doctor.
Hope your scan goes ok
There's bound to be someone else in your situation who has had a Prostectomy and can let you know what happened in their case.
Normally, any questions you fire out, someone has had first hand experience of it.

I do have a pet scan next Tuesday . Hope after that I get some answers. Thanks for xxx
