My dad has recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Frustratingly he got very little info from the Doctor. He isn't being seen until 1st Sept so you would like to assume its in the earlier stages. He did mention something about creases. 3 on one side and 4 on the other. Does this make sense to anyone?
Of course I've asked him to get more information but due to extenuating circumstances we're unlikely going to get more information for several days.
Morning,
Hopefully your Dad is in the early stages. It's the waiting and not knowing that got to me, "fear of the unknown" as I put it.
The 1st September will soon be here. As Ulls said, go with him to the appointment. I'm glad I had my partner with me as I couldn't take it all in. She's been with me on all of my Cancer appointments (apart from the Radiation treatment, you just can't share some things).
Had my PSA levels done last night in readiness for my Oncologist appointment in 2 weeks.
Hope it all goes smoothly for your Dad and yourself. It's family that have to deal with all of this also. Be strong for him.
I couldn't talk about it to anyone at first, now I can't stop.

Around 6 weeks ago I was advising a group of guy's at the club about getting checked out, on Tuesday a pint was put in front of my and he said thanks, his wife gave me a hug, told me I'd saved his life, he does have cancer but very early so high possible he will be ok,
Talking works, so keep on doing my friend.
All the best Ulls

I can't help myself, it's addictive. I know that I am still basically a PC Virgin (only 15 months).
Now I feel that I can try to help to advise newly diagnosed men through my experiences.
If anything I say can help anyone or their partners... I know that I can waffle on and on.....
I had my 6 monthly PSA test yesterday. Got the results already 0.03 Pretty Chuffed with that!!!

Hi LScott.Yes get as much information as possible. The guys on here are brilliant they helped me ,there is always someone on here that can answer any queries you may have. I know it's so frustrating not knowing anything but try to stay positive I too had a Gleason score of 3+4. I have started my first round of treatment yesterday. Anyway hope you and your dad are in good spirits remember we are all in this together . Pete
