Hi all,

Received the letter for my mri and i am hoping you can let me know what it means. The part I want to know is where it says MRI 31cc prostate, PIRADS 4. Just had a precision point transperineal prostate biopsy which was 94 days after my first appointment with my Urologist, now waiting for the results for that.

Hi CTX . Your prostate is 31 mls in size ( pretty normal I think ) , and the MRI radiologist thinks that there is a probably a cancer there ( PIRADS 4) .( this is not always right ) . The highest possible PIRADS score would be 5 , which would have meant a very high chance of it being cancer . Bill

Hi Keith

As Bill has said PIRAD 4 indicates likely it is cancer, although not 100%, the biopsy results will tell u Def.

Good news is it looks like it is contained within the gland so that makes any treatment easier and potentially curable
