Hi

anyone in the group on Abiraterone & it’s effects on PSA response? Unfortunately my psa is rising just before completion of docitaxel chemo . Came down to 4 from bout 50 & now rising fast to 7 and drs thinking of starting Abiraterone to control . RT planned as well .
just wanted to know anyone on Abiraterone and what are the main side effects , how long you have had it & most importantly was psa well controlled with it ? Or anyone like me have had it after docitaxel resistance? Thanks

  • There are a few men here on Abiraterone, hopefully you’ll hear about how it is with them soon. Wishing you all the best.

  • I’ve been on Zytiga for about 7 months now with a short break due to low calcium issues, but it would seem very good.

let’s hope it keeps going that way.

  • Thanks paphos

how soon did psa fall after zytiga? Did u have any chemo before that ?

  • Hi

Radiotherapy brings the PSA down further, you don’t say if your on hormone therapy? I’ve done the chemo, radiotherapy still on hormone therapy and now five and a half years later I’m on enzalutamide I could have choose arberaterone but it was to aggressive for me.
    keep safe

  • I have been on Abiraterone about 7 months, don't find it too bad I do get man flushes (these are like ladies hot flushes but much worse Grin), and struggle to sleep but that might not be due to Abiraterone.

PSA down to 0.1 and holding so seems ok for me
