Hi every one ,I have been diagnosed with prostate cancer which has spread to the lining of the rectum .The pain in my anus is really bad ,its like having a red hot poker stuck up my bum oooocha .

I will be starting my radio therepy soon and am concerned that the treatment will only treat the prostate and not the cancer in my rectum ,can anyone tel me that the radio therapy will attack the cancer in rectum as well as the cancer in the prostate

  • Hi Willis422, sorry to hear your prostate cancer has spread to the rectum. I can’t answer your question but surely your oncologist will know what is being targeted as they will have designed the radiation field along with the radiotherapy team. I would ask them what their plan is for the rectum area.
