Has anyone had this drug and if so what are the side effects as I have been recommended to start this becuase of the amount of hot flushes I am having
It is a good treatment for hot flushes but be aware that it can cause a rise in your HbA1c blood sugar levels. I was on Prostap for three years & Cyproterone for about two-and-a-half years and was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in August this year. I have stopped both medications now and am hoping my HbA1c levels will drop. I won't get another blood test until March at the earliest so I have invested in a blood sugar monitor to try and keep a check on it.
Thanks I will have a good chat with my GP before I start it
Hi
My husband was put on cyproterone acetate for the hot flushes he was experiencing, we had tried evening primroses and sage tablets both had no effect
Once he had been on the cyproterone acetate a couple of weeks he was a different man,he went from constant severe flushes to maybe one through the night.it was amazing certainly gave him his life back
Good luck
That is the same for me, I tried Primsose oil and sage, been on cyproterone for 10 days now and what a difference.
Hello
,my husband was prescribed cyproterone acetate after months of terrible hot flushes. It has made so much difference to him ,only a very hot flush at night now whereas before they were constant.
He has several underlying health conditions but as far as we can see no side effects from the cyproterone acetate.
Good luck and I hope it helps
