Wel after telephone call with my oncologist I feel quite uplifted, my PSA is now at 0.7 so the treatments I am on are doing their job. This months Degarelix injection was only sore for a day so happy with that and got appointment for my radiotherapy planning.

Radiotherapy planning on 19th November with the treatments to start 8th December, runs over Christmas but that can't be helped, so hopefully then in for the long haul.

Happy Keith

  • Hi KeithA,

It`s always nice to get good news but it seems even better when it`s about your prostate cancer. Waiting on results is always a horrible time and I still get nervous when I`m due blood test results and that is every 3 months. Glad the first part of your treatment plan is working and hopefully your radiotherapy treatment will continue the good news for you.

    Take care, Tom.

  • At present I get blood tests every fortnight, the radiotherapy is part of the overall treatment to help extend life. Seemingly  this combination of treatment for advanced PC was found to be beneficial during the Stampede trials.

  • Brilliant news, how many sessions of RT are you due to have. I am on session 17 of 20 today

    Regards

    Paul

  • I will be getting same as you 20 sessions

  • On the day of my diagnosis (March2020) my consultant/oncology team told me surgery and radiotherapy were not an option, so straight onto a couple of hormone treatments. Proves that one size shoe does not fit all.

  • When I was diagnosed the Urologist told me I would have hormone treatment and chemo, then a couple of weeks later I was on 2 different hormone treatments with the plan for radiotherapy.
