just had a doc come out, dad from last night started to wee with lots of blood in it. Doc seems confident it's an infection and now on antibiotics. Anyone else ever get this?. hope docs correct, it scared the poo out of me im not good with this sort of thing.
Thanks people.
Hi
You dont mention , but has your Dad been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer? If so, and he has had his biopsy, then this could be the cause of the bleeding. In my case, it wasn't very much, and only lasted a couple of days.
Cant really comment any further without more details - PSA, Gleason etc.
Regards
Stuart
sorry forgot to say, been saying it for nearly 2 years. doesn't matter thanks for your time.
good luck mate.
Where is your Dad along the path of diagnosis? Has he been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer? If so is he getting any treatment such as Hormone Therapy and waiting for radiotherapy? Do you know what his PSA test result was and has he had a Biopsy taken from the prostate? If he had a biopsy in the last few days this could be the cause of the bleeding and could have resulted in an infection - though normally antibiotics are given both before and after the biopsy which should stop this from happening. Either way the antibiotics should work well and make sure that if he still has problems when he finishes this course of antibiotics then call the Doc again. Only advise I can give is to make sure he drinks lots of water to flush the system out and takes the antibiotics as advised by either the pharmacist and GP or the in packet leaflet.
All the best.
