I’ve recently been referred for radiotherapy to treat gynaecomastia (moobs). Does anyone have experience of this, any advice, did it work?

  • There have been people on here who have had this and from what I remember it has worked.  Hope one of the guys who has had this reads your post and answers your question from his first hand experience.

  • I had Gynaecomastia in my 50s, 20 years before I was diagnosed with PC. The consultant who dealt with my case then recommended Evening Primrose Oil and Sage Leaves, which I took for about three years and it worked. I have been taking the same combination again since I started hormone treatment for PC over two years ago and it's still working and combating hot flushes too!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift.

    Hi Seamus

Just started HT - 150mg of Bicalutamide daily and 20mg of Tamoxifen bi-weekly to counteract breast issues, and came across your recommendation for Evening Primrose Oil & Sage Leaves.  I was thinking, why not?  Can you recommend a brand?

    Many thanks

    Robin

  • It's been about a fortnight since finishing radiotherapy, results are promising one breast is tender but breast tissue has broken down andmorelike fat tissue. Good luck anyone else. My concern was my mother had breast cancer and was concerned breast growth would increase risk.

  • Hi Robin,

I buy them online from Holland & Barratt. They often have 2 for 1 or other special offers so I stock up then. I take 1 off 1300mg EP oil and 2 off 285mg Sage leaves twice a day. I did cut down to only once a day about 6 months ago as the hot flushes were almost non-existent, but they started to come back and I have now been back on twice a day for a couple of weeks and it's working great.

I hope it works for you.

  • Hi YoungMan

I had extremely painful breasts as a result of my hormone treatment and my left side was particularly tender. I was recommended radiotherapy treatment (one session) and initially there was no improvement. However, after about 6 months or so the pain has dissipated and also, some of the swelling has gone. I would say, give it a go as you have nothing to lose!

  • . I received three sessions and am already noticing an improvement, my right breast was tender and I could feel the tissue growth, this now has improved significantly and I’ve been told that there can be improvement over three months. I’m happy with the results so far, now the other way for me to improve my moobs is by diet and exercise:)
