My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 peritoneal 13 months ago , he has had 14 gruelling rounds of chemo . He had every side effect listed .
we have been to Basingstoke and been told surgery is not an option for him . The tumour has now doubled in size . Basically Chemo has not worked .
we are constantly being told how rare this cancer is especially in Men . He is now in a lot of pain , just to understand if we have any other options or relief from this dreadful disease .
Are there any other males in the same situation?
Elaine
Hi Elizabeth I have been really ill ,in and out of hospital since January, had fluid around my lung and had to have it drained,on oxygen and felt it was the end.....was so weak.
None of the medication I was on was working,so I decided to go down my own path a couple of months ago. I was desperate.
It feels like a miracle,I'm back to my old self, getting stronger every day, enjoying life to the full.
Just had a ct scan and the cancer is stable,no acites,
Keep positive and keep strong, fight this terrible disease xx
Hi Barnard, that sounds horrendous. Don't know what your own path is but it sounds brilliant. It's hard to stay positive when you feel ill all the time but I am not going out without a fight. xx
Hi ElizabethB.
I am sorry that you are in so much discomfort. Please tell me what the last CT scan showed. I think your omentum may be compromised and if so they can remove a lot of this and the cancer in it. I am having chemo every week now..on the 6th one x but feel relatively fit and fine. I eat what I want drink lots of wine and work 40 to 50 hours per week. If you have any more questions or need help please reach out. Xx lots of love and strength x
Sending strength please share what path u decided xx
Hi Summer. I had the debunking operation and my omentum was removed along with my reproductive organs. There are a few nodules scattered around apparently so not sure what is going on. Xx
Remind me how many times it has returned and what chemo you are on please. I find Paclitaxel is best to keep mine under control.. xx
This is the first time it has returned I will be on Paclitaxel and carbonation same as last time and it worked really well last time. Xx
Great, I am having Paclitaxel weekly and have had 6 sessions so far. My hair is falling out now (I usually have shaved it off by now)
Stay strong xx
