Hi , my journey so far, i have breast cancer 24 years ago, lumpectomy and no more trouble until 2020 when breast cancer occured in the same breast, mastectomy and i thought thats it. However a week afer the all clear from the breast team i was having problems with what i thought was urinary problems, but turned oit to be Ovarian cancer, so full hysterectomy including ovaries, cervix and tubes, Grade 2b , had chemo for 6 sessions , PET scan then showed no cancer, so regular check ups. Just before my check up this time i started feeling bloated , and generally off, called the oncology team who rushed through bloods and scan and I now have peritoneal cancer , not operable but to be controlled by chemo. Had to have my stomach drained yesterday as i was so bloated and breathless, removed 13 pints of fluid. Feel tired and sore today but so much lighter, have people had this done and does chemo contol the fluid gain or do yu need regualr drains. Feeling very emotional, feel life was just getting back to normal and here we go again, but thi stime seems more of a death sentence.
oh that sounds hopeful, i start my chemo on 20th , just hope i dont bloat too much before then! Were you quite sore after the draining? i had mine yesterday and today i feel quite tender inside, but much better generally!
Yes I was a bit tender after but like you say the results are worth it.I'm sure you'll see a difference with the chemotherapy.
i'm having carboplatin and liposomal doxorubcin
