Hi, I have just been diagnosed with Peritoneum cancer & have my first oncology appointment tomorrow to see my Oncologist. Not sure what he will say but i will try & fight it like i did with the Ovarian cancer. All i can think of at the moment is I’m going to feel so poorly again with the chemotherapy. But this time i am not going to stop working as i was off for 6 months last time and that alone nearly did for me! So i have been getting my flat in order & doing all of those little job’s that you put off to another day, so when i am feeling rough at least i will be comfy at home with the dog. Last time every time i came home from chemo my dog stuck to me like glue, he slept right up next to me so much so he used to pin my duvet to me lol. Does anyone else’s pet behave like this?
Hi Domino, yes when I went through chemo a couple of years ago he was the same. He would also constantly check my breath as I have type 2 diabetes and the steroids played havoc with my blood sugars. He woke me up one night when they became extrmely high and I was able to take medication to reduce them. He got me tbroygh some tough days.
Well here is an odd one last year just before my husband had bowel cancer diagnosis our 12 year old Lhasa started to loose his hair on his back and tail this is continuing - recent blood tests at Vets show no cause for concern - we’ve asked if chemoradiation and current course of chemo tablets could have an effect but been told no - just wonder if he sensed something wrong ??
