I’m new on here so here’s a little bit about me.
I’m 62 and was diagnosed with Stage 4 PPC on July 6th. It came as a massive shock as I hadn’t really been poorly.
I’ve had 3 cycles of chemotherapy and had a scan last week. The findings will be discussed at the MDT meeting on Monday and I should get the results next week. I know after 2 treatments my CA125 level had reduced to 5 so I’m hoping that the scan mirrors this reduction.
I’m staying positive most of the time and trying not to shout at myself too much when negative thoughts creep in.
I’m unable to have Avastin as the oncologist said in my case the risks outweighed the benefits but he said once I’ve had the genetic test results there would be other options for long term treatment.
Has anyone on here had any other treatment?
Hi Dottie59
Welcome to the forum . Just wanted to pop on and say that’s a great tumour CA125 reading ! Let’s hope the scan brings more good news for you !
A patient once told me to keep my mind where my body was in terms of managing those negative and intrusive thoughts!
All the very best !
