I am 56 and was diagnosed in spring 2018 with PPC, after chemotherapy (Paclitaxel and Carboplatin) and a TAH, I was in remission by September. In July 2020 it came back, treatment started again and by November again it has all disappeared from view on CT scan. To my shock it was back in July 2021, treatment delayed slightly due to having a blocked and twisted bowel that caused me to be hospitalised. I now start chemo on 6th Sept. A slightly different approach this time, using Carboplatin and Gemcitabine and then introducing a targeted therapy. Has anyone had similar occurrences
Hi Summer2018, welcome to the Online Community but I'm sorry you find yourself here. I myself have a different type of cancer and had Brachytherapy, not chemo, so I can't offer much in the experience department I'm sorry to say. Hopefully the members here will be along soon to chat and offer advice.
It’s always helpful to others if you write a little something (or a lot) about yourself and your journey to date. You can enter it into your profile (click on your username and select “Profile”) It’s helpful to other members with a similar diagnosis who can then hopefully answer your questions. It also means that you don't have to keep writing the same thing over and over. You can amend or update it at any time.
To find more information covering diagnosis and treatments there are pages covering most types of cancers which can be found on our Online Information and Support Section.

You're further along your journey than I am...(you can read about me in my profile: I try to keep it updated). It must be difficult facing these reoccurrence but at least you have had some time between the rounds of chemo and perhaps with the targeted therapy your cancer may be held off even longer ? You will have had you first chemo by now: I hope all went well for you and you can enjoy sitting out in the sunshine today maybe?
