  • Hi and a warm welcome to the Online Community. I’m sorry to read about your diagnosis but you’ve come to the right place to talk to other people who have been or are in the same situation and help you get through this.

My cancer is different, but a cancer diagnosis of any kind makes us ask lots of questions, causes confusion, stress and probably emotions we’ve never experienced before.  You've joined the Peritoneal cancer group, this will be a good place to connect with others making the same type of cancer journey. It is going to be hard to tell your Dad and your children. It might be helpful to join the Family and friends group which will offer them support - just click on the link I've created.

Once your treatment plan has been devised you'll feel more in control. I'm sorry that you might well lose your hair but from what I read it often grows back stronger. There is a chemotherapy option of the cold cap which reduces loss but your team will be best prepared to advise you.

It’s always helpful to others if you write a little something (or a lot) about yourself and your journey to date. You can enter it into your profile (click on your username and select “Profile”) It’s helpful to other members with a similar diagnosis who can then hopefully answer your questions. It also means that you don't have to keep writing the same thing over and over. You can amend or update it at any time.

I'm attaching a link to some reading material on Primary Peritoneal cancer you may find helpful.

e Macmillan Support Services also offer lots of information, support, financial guidance or just someone to listen. It’s free to call 0808 808 0000. • Hi Fallon1, I'm ever so sorry to her about your diagnosis. I've been in similar situation 3 months ago diagnosed with PPC stage 3c so lucky it hasn't spreaded yet but probably same treatment. I've had 3 rounds of chemo which wasn't as hard as expected now awaiting CT scan to decide what's next. I'm only 37 with 3 young children. It's a shock, it's not fair but we need to stay strong and keep positive. People live with cancer and can beat it, we can do this

  • Good morning to you, thankyou for your reply, I have a meeting with the oncologist on Monday so i will know more then, I can only feel for you and your family and hope that you come through this and control the damn thing, im ok but have bouts if uncontrollable sobbing seemingly when i think of my family, i presume your pretty much the same. My life went from 100 to 0 in one day when they told me, im now going to do what i want when i want, in moderation. It certainly brings things into respective doesnt it.
