Hi all
I was diagnosed with terminal peritoneal cancer in September 25 because this dreadful cancer has returned after debulking surgery and it’s returned in my liver, pelvis and there’s a 3cm tumour in my small intestine.
I have been on Folfox chemotherapy for 4 months and have changed to Folfiri early because of my peripheral neuropathy in my hands and feet is very bad. (Numbness) I am on IV chemotherapy until November 26. Then it’s chemotherapy tablets apparently. I’m also on Avastin a targeted treatment that shrinks the tumours.
I feel extremely well on chemotherapy in fact the best I’ve felt since I was diagnosed in July 24. My surgery was in October 24. I have put on weight and actually feel a lot better on chemotherapy than before as my digestive system is working a lot better now.
I want to hear from other unfortunate people with a terminal diagnosis of this awful cancer and have they felt the same?
At the moment I feel totally well and have even put on weight after losing 3 stone post my surgery. Have you experienced the same?? I know this won’t last and I will deteriorate very fast when it all returns but atm I just don’t feel terminal at all. So my question is ‘ IS THIS NORMAL IN THE PROCESS OF THIS ILLNESS?
I look forward to hearing from you but am worried only a few people are actually on this forum….
Many thanks in advance
Zoe
Hi Zoe/Puntoelx

Sending virtual ((hugs))
I have advanced pancreatic cancer, maybe 6 months or even 11months if the chemo shrinks the tumour etc. I did feel unwell at diagnosis due to jaundice s a stent and pancreatic enzymes have made by life good again, long walks enjoying time with family and friends. In 12 days it’s aggressive chemotherapy which will make life unpleasant.
So I don’t feel terminal, I feel and look healthy. So I set out to enjoy everyday and the odd tear is fine and hugs are a wonderful medicine.
I do not have Pancreatic cancer but do have PPC so I cannot comment on your cancer but have replied to try and keep you at the top of the comments in the hope you get replies from others like you.
However, I can say I also feel and look healthy. So many people have told me how well I look and I don’t know what they were expecting to see but hey ho there we are!
Many thanks for your reply. Are you terminal? Which aggressive chemo have u gotta have?
Flofirnox, which is a combination of cancer drugs for pancreatic cancer.
