Hey.. im just finding my way around here!

I was diagnosed with stage 3 primary peritoneal cancer after debulking surgery. I still have spots on my diaphragm. I am waiting to hear from the consultant to find out if I will have chemo or hormone therapy. She is getting a second opinion as she thinks chemo maybe overkill to start with. Has anyone else had the same? Scary times! X

  • I was diagnosed with stage 3C PPC. It had metastasised to the omentum. I had 3 cycles of chemo then debulking surgery followed by  another 3 cycles of chemo. It sounds as though your cancer may be different from mine. You didn’t say at what level your stage 3 was so it makes it difficult to know. There aren't many people with PPC diagnoses on this site so if you can give a bit more information about the level of your stage 3 it may help you with answers. Do let me know if I can help at all. It is a scary time but try and be positive about the result.

When you next see your oncologist take somebody with you if you can, write down any questions you want to ask before you go and get the person with you to write down what is said. If you are on your own try and write things down and ask as many questions as you need to. The oncologist will not mind if you have to ask them for more clarification or to give you the answer again.

Good luck with your next appointment and please let me know how it goes. xx

  • Hi.. thankyou for reply. So mine had spread to the omentum, ovary and my bowel. It is stage 3 low grade and have been told it is incurable but, with treatment it could slow it down and hopefully will have a few years. Its so hard to not Google outcomes and they are not very good!
