It’s been 44 days since I tested positive for Covid. I finally tested negative after 32 days. At sometime during Covid I developed a sinus infection. I have never been sicker. I just started my second round of antibiotics. I have Avistan infusions and take Lynparza. Both of these treatments caused my immune system to be depressed. I have numerous other side effects from my cancer maintenance medications.

At my cancer center no one wears masks. I was complacent and careless thinking my many Covid immunizations would protect me. All the patients at my cancer center have weakened immune systems. I wanted to tell everyone to be safe. Four of my family members contracted Covid. They too had immunizations. After 10 days everyone was well except for me.

It is easy to wear a mask and carry hand sanitizer. I promise you that you don’t want Covid and Cancer. Covid is horrible!

  • Hi Diana/ and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, you are right that covid is not something you want to catch, especially if you're going through treatment or your immune system is low.

When you have a minute, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Day 48 and Covid fatigue is still hanging on. After being awake for only 3 or 4 hours I hit a wall and have to sleep. My daughter visited and I made her wear a mask and use hand sanitizer. She works in a pharmacy and is around a lot of sick people.
