After Chemo Where has Everyone Gone?

After chemo the calls, cards, texts, emails and visits practically stopped. I think after chemo everyone feels like they can now go on with their lives and not have to think about the horrid dreaded cancer diagnosis. I felt alone and had to learn how to be alone with PPC. I still have infusions every 3 weeks but no one comes with me.

I’m glad I found this site. I think I will learn a lot here to cope with the many aspects of cancer.

  • Hi Dow

i am sorry to hear your friends and family seem to have disappeared. I am sure they are still there. I hope you hear from them soon. People find a loved one’s illness difficult to deal with and don’t always know what to say or how to help. Perhaps there are one or two people you could reach out to again. Our lives are so busy when we are well but seem to come to a standstill when we are ill. Everyone else seems to move on whilst we wait. Wait for appointments, treatment, tests and answers and waiting is hard.

  • I believe you are right! Thank you.

I’m just getting over 42 days of Covid and another 10 days of a sinus infection. I started a secondary round of antibiotics yesterday. That is enough to make a person feel isolated.
