Hello everyone.
Just back from biopsies today ( have to wait 5-10 days for results) but the dr said it presented as cancer.
My CA-125 result ( done a month ago) was normal though ….is this possible with primary peritoneal cancer?
Many thanks for any info.
Hi Gilly5 and a warm welcome to our online community, I hope you find it useful.
I’m Steve, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community.
I did a bit of looking around and found a page here that notes " CA-125 levels can be normal even if you have cancer (false negative), or they can be elevated when you don’t have cancer (false positive)."
Many people find waiting for results to be about the most difficult part of the entire process and we can see some information on that here.
My experience with cancer is different in that it is my wife who has the cancer, her route to diagnosis was long and difficult - she has Leiomyosarcoma but after treatment her cancer is stable and has been for some time.
<<hugs>>
Steve
