My sibling has just been diagnosed with liver and peritoneum cancer.

He's very frightened and thinks he's going to pass away.

He hasn't started treatment yet and an operation is not an option.

What can he expect, regarding treatment, pain and life expectancy?

  • Hello Jup

Welcome to the Online Community. I am sorry to see that your brother has been diagnosed with liver and peritoneal cancer.

Being diagnosed with cancer is naturally a very worrying time and I can understand why he feels frightened and how this must also be of concern to you.

You have asked about possible treatments so have put some links here that may help.

We also have an Ask the Nurse section that maybe of help.

I hope that your brother sees his consultant quickly and that he will have the opportunity to ask questions and find out what is next for him regarding treatment. Personally I found the waiting around and not knowing was tough but once I had a plan in place things did feel a bit more positive.

If you feel speaking to someone would help, the support line number is at the bottom of this.

If there is any further support you need please do ask.

    Jane
