Hi all,

I got home at the beggining of this week, so spent 5 nights in St Georges hospital up on the vernon ward

I ended up having Glansectomy + split skin graft with bilateral sentinel biopsy - and in english : they took away the glands and some of my penis, and grafted skin from my thigh onto what is left of the penis,  along with another procedure completed at the same time to remove lymph nodes from both groins

The hospital team in Vernon Ward were amazing and supportive, the pain was manged well, with the bandage for the glansecrtomy being removed 3 days after the op and the catheter removed on monday just before I went home (5 days with catheter).

I should have the results of the lymph nodes biopsy by the end of this month

So far, all is good and recovery is going well, I totally under-estimated the recovery time and can see now its probably a couple of weeks yet before I will be up and about. My wife and family have been amazingly supportive.

I will probably post a bit more about my experience so that others yet to have the operation are able to comprehend what it may be like for them.

Regards

J
