Hello all. I’m very new to this having only been given results yesterday. I am very well at the minute but know it can’t last . Although I have been given quite in depth info about the actual cancer, treatment is yet to be sorted although I know it isn’t operable. And I know nothing about help at home, transport or benefits/finances. Any advice will be much appreciated.

  • I’m a little like you as I’ve just been confirmed that they do not think the cancer is operable in fact they think best advice is for palliative chemotherapy as they do not believe I will be able to go through the surgery as it’s about 6 to 8 hours on the operating table and

proper chemotherapy may not be viable as they are not sure what will kill me first the aggressive treatment or the spread of cancer ?

it’s just a bit odd that I have not had a conversation with the surgeon as we have just received a copy letter of the conversation we had o  22nd January with the surgeon but

of the results of the biopsy which took place 2 weeks ago or so we have not had confirmation of results nor any conversation with the surgeon as to exactly what’s going on with me ?

my understanding of my situation palliative chemotherapy, means that I have terminal pancreatic cancer and I am self employed so need to understand what financial help I need against what financial help is available through universal credit and PIPs etc

im terrified as to what will happen with my dog of 13 years and my wife of 40 years of marriage this coming May ! As we are living in rental detached house

I don’t know how aggressive the cancer is / nor any plans the care is moving forward ?
