My husband has been ill since a tumour was found in the head of his pancreas. (Easter Saturday). He had severe Jaundice, then infection, now in hospital with Sepsis from the stent. He is still to see an Oncologist. He is very low and unwell. Please suggest how I can help him through this.
Thank you for this. He is slowly improving and is now in a ward. He still has low mood. It’s a very difficult time. We really need to see Oncology to know the true prognosis and treatment plan but the hospital do not see this as a priority. It’s so stressful and the hospital have made some appalling errors
Hi everyone. It’s now August and my husband has still not made it to see an oncologist. He has now got Discitis (a very rare infection of the spinal disc) from the infection that caused the sepsis. He is bed bound. - in hospital this time for 7 weeks so far. Oncology need him to be infection free before seeing him. We’ve had appalling treatment from various doctors. Mostly telling him he hasn’t got long to live! One Doctor told me that the treatment is brutal and doesn’t work. I was all alone at the time in ICU with my semi-conscious husband so poorly with sepsis and he heard every word. It was awful! We don’t even know what stage the cancer is. This is from diagnosis at Easter! It’s been so tough, and he’s been so unlucky. I am angry with everyone. It’s like the ground has gone from under our feet.
