Hello and thanks for letting me join
I have been informed that they found 2 lumps in my pancreas and they think it is inoperable cancer. They cannot be sure as biopsy was only able to do part of lump (this showed nothing cancerous) as my oxygen levels dropped, but the specialist thinks it is cancer.
They advised me that they would see me in 3 months for CT scan and in the meantime I am just left with no proper diagnosis. I feel like a death row prisoner not knowing if or when I go to the chair. Would love to hear from anyone in the same position or someone who could advise me on what I can do. I live in Northern Ireland.
Ask for a second opinion. If that is not possible in NI, ask, if possible, to be referred to the Royal Marsden, London or another specialist centre in England. This may not be possible from a personal/family standpoint, but you should not be left in limbo.PET scan, CT scan, MRI will all confirm if it is cancer or not. If the growths/cancer cells in your pancreas have not spread to other organ, there are various surgical procedures that may be performed. Sadly, you will not get the treatment you need unless you fight. The mental anguish is very stressful AND, if it is cancer, the stress will exacerbate your condition. My husband (and I) has been fighting this horrible disease for 2 1/2 years.Good luck, prayers and blessings.
