I just want to introduce myself. I'm "doing great" - by which I mean I seem to be recovering from the surgery, and am walking a couple of miles a day, doing meditations, breathing, stretching, and all that, but also, the trauma, grief, and sens of loss and fear/uncertainty keep sneaking up on me. I know that body takes the time it takes, and this is a new normal I have to get used to and /create which will not be the old normal, but I realized last night that I just wanted a place in which to share the experience with others who know what it's like. And to be able to share and maybe contribute something.
I have my follow-up visit with the consultant/surgeon on Tuesday 27th Sept, as well as the oncologist. I have been told that "They got all of it" and the meeting with the oncologist is routine to discuss options, but, what does that mean? Prophylactic chemo, radiation, other possibilities
I'm looking forward to learning from you all.
Thank you. The surgeon got the whole thing, zero nodes, zero metastasis. However. the oncologist recommended (highly) a 6 month course of Chemo - Folfirinox -to prevent a recurrence. I guess because Pancreatic cancer is a b***er. I'm not thrilled. Thank you for responding to my first post. I trust you continue to be well, and I was sorry to read of your husband's death. Actually, it helps me choose the chemo. Not a comfort to you, but I thank you.
