 Hi

Dad diagnosed with PC earlier this year. 9 lots of chemo so far and possibly more.

Due to spots showing on or near his spine, won't operate on pancreas. Had a stent in bile duct earlier this year due to liver not working. Hes lost stones in weight, hair. and just turned 70.

CT results are due this week, to see if chemo is working.

I'm beyond heartbroken, feel helpless as I guess we all do. Hes been unwell since end of last year so we all just pray for good progress results at this stage.

  •  Hi @Shelley73 and a warm welcome to the Online Community. I'm so sorry to read of your Dad's diagnosis. Any cancer diagnosis causes stress, anxiety and makes us feel helpless and very alone. You've joined the right forums to connect with other people going through the same type of cancer journey and also get support from others supporting a family member.

I do hope the CT results due this week will be good news for you both and show the chemo is working.

It’s always helpful to others if you write a little something (or a lot) about yourself and your Dad's journey to date. You can enter it into your profile (click on your username and select “Profile”) It’s helpful to other members with a similar diagnosis who can then hopefully answer your questions. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. You can amend or update it at any time.

The Macmillan Support Services also offer lots of information, support, financial guidance or just someone to listen. It’s free to call 0808 808 0000. Most services are available 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Have a look by Clicking here to see what is available and we also have our Ask an Expert section, but do allow two to three working days for replies from our expert team.

Sending you welcoming hugs B xx
