Hello and thank you for listening. I’ve had ultrasound scan with normal appearances of pancreas and normal CT scan. My GP thinks I have symptoms of either pancreatic insufficiency or bile acid malabsorption in the absence of a malignancy showing. Can people have this without a cancer of pancreas? I have Ibs and diverticular disease along with lots of anxiety after a very stressful few months. Also if I did have pancreatic insufficiency through a cancer it would surely be large enough to show on tests. Thank you.
Hi Amethyst65
I can't help with your questions but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
I'm sorry to hear of the length of time you've endured your tummy problems. If persisting it's good to keep visiting Dr's for further tests, even to write your ongoing fears on here. I had much support from the site.
It's great to hear there's no sign of an injury to the pancreas in yr ct scan or ultrasound. I know my brother's picked up one tiny 3mm lesion before his full explorations, so it shows how good the scans were. We have to put our trust in their findings as there's no choices. Even then it was suggested, its a sign of this being a 'nasty'. Some are benign. I'd say think positive best you can. Stress and Anxiety in the mind causes more bodily functions and reactions and ongoing symptoms. Often paramedics are taught to quickly reassure people at scenes of accidents as Shock alone to the body can be a killer, not an injured body.
A first indicator to my bro was actually HIS blood test results. No symptoms -Hence his then full nhs explorations. Even then he had one positive approach to his finding of the tiny Cancer.
So Determined was he not to 'think himself into an early grave' Always believing he would fight the disease as long as possible.
Try and remain calm.
I hope you get the problems found soon.
