mini stroke

Hello all,

So my husband had his third round of chemo a week and a half ago and had a mini stroke whilst having his 2/3 chemos. Drs are saying it wasn’t due to the chemo but he has always been fit and healthy at the age of 47.

He is now having anxiety about starting his fourth round of chemo tomorrow.

so my question has anyone had a TIA whilst having chemo or after and what can I do to support my husband…. I’m just at a loss of what to do or how I can help him.

I think I’m just posting here to talk to someone..,

thanks

Hi Chrissie and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I don't have the experience you're looking for but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list.

As you know the online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to suggest that you might also like to join and post in the carers only group as you may find others there whose loved one has had a stroke whilst on chemo. They can also tell you what they've found works best to support their loved one.

If you'd like to join just click on the link I've created which will take you directly to the group. You can then join and start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

I hope his chemo went well
