I'm very worried I may have pancreatic cancer but both my GP, gastroenterologist and A&E say this isn't the case. The issue I have is that while I have had blood tests, ultrasounds and a colonoscopy, they have never done a CT scan. I'm 60 but the issue is that my symptoms are atypical. I haven't lost weight (I have gained some!), don't have jaundice, have a good appetite and have no difficulty swallowing. What I do have is pain under my breastbone and between my shoulder blades. I also have pain in my left side, but they say this is diverticulitis which they say was confirmed by the colonoscopy. Complicating matters is the fact that I have MS, which can cause similar symptoms.
I had an endoscopy four years ago that was perfectly normal. I tested negative for H Pylori. They seem convinced I have GORD since my throat and oesophagus are inflammed. They have diagnosed me with "silent GORD".
I'm really worried as I have read about people misdiagnosed with IBS, GORD or diverticulitis, only to discover they have pancreatic cancer. I've asked for a CT scan but they say this isn't indicated. I've only just started treatment for GORD but the pain between my shoulder blades persists. What should I do?
