My husband had whipple 9 weeks ago but hasn’t decided on chemo is anyone not having chemo and doing ok?

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community, and my husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 7 months ago. He had chemo immediately, as the tumour was too close to a vital blood vessel for an immediate operation to take place, so not the experience you're looking for. However, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet so responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your husband's diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi there my husband had whipple 9 weeks ago but doesn’t want chemo he says he wants quality over quantity I back him all the way but our sons and wives are very upset saying he should try it I am very depressed and finding life very difficult he is my life after being together 56 years thank you for talking to to me u have gone through so.much god bless u and take care

  • It sounds like you're going through an incredibly tough time. Unfortunately my husband's chemo didn't shrink the tumour so he's currently on a chemo break before starting a different type.

You might also like to join the carers only group where you can share your worries and concerns with others who have a loved one living with cancer.
